Google has introduced a brand-new Traffic tab in Google Maps in Lagos.
The Traffic tab supplies bus riders with information to help them discover their most effective path, both in travel time and transport expenses. Previously, Google Maps users have only had the ability to gain access to information for other types of transportation consisting of automobiles, two-wheelers, BRT and ride hailing.
The Traffic tab however consists of a new instructions experience, which includes suggested routes which may integrate walking, taking a keke (marwa) or okada, danfo or BRT around Lagos.
According to Senior Product Manager, Google Maps, Jeff Albertson, clicking the photos will enable users to get a 360 degree view on ‘Street View’ to assist them much better understand their place.
“What we have built for Lagos is a worldwide first for Google Maps, and an action towards helping people in many other cities where transport can be informally organized as it is in Nigeria.
“We co-designed this product with individuals in Lagos. It was an engaging process to go back to square one, bring varied groups of Googlers to Lagos to speak with Lagosians and regional guides, and understand local requirements,” he said.
